What I Do

I engage in public conversations and strategic actions about Healthy and Thriving Communities harmed by social injustices and social determinants that burden North Minneapolis residents and neighborhoods.

The Watering
W(hole)

Mobile Water Bars to educate and support increased water intake. Hydration reverses the onset of many chronic illnesses and diseases. Hydration optimizes the health and wellbeing of Black bodies.

The play ANGRY BLACK WOMAN & Well Intentioned White Girl “GOES THERE!” by expressing the daily “unsaids” between black and white women. The accusations and silences reflect our miseducation about each other - the superficial and deep conflicts around our womanhood, ethnicities, rights, power, and constant juxtaposition of roles within the politics of white male patriarchy.

ANGRY BLACK WOMAN and Well Intentioned White Girl goes deep into those hidden, dehumanizing narratives, through storytelling and audience participation.

The Sick & Tired of Being Sick & Tired Chair

The SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED chair continues my exploration of SITTING AS AN ACT OF RESISTANCE (and other acts of civil disobedience) as a woman of African Descent.

As I discover more about the cultural legacies of my African and Native American Ancestors, I have discovered instances of quiet contemplation such as “peace be still” and a defiat act aainst the juxtapositioned expressions of rage, sorrow, pain, and depression of women as mothers. I have also discovered deeper wells of love, joy, forgiveness and redemption.
